Horse & Rider Portraits

The purpose of the session fee is to reserve your spot and cover my time without boxing you into a decision on how many images you’d like to purchase before you have seen them. Once you review your proofs, you can decide which collection is best suited to your needs!

The contract provides clients with the legal reassurance that all services covered by your session fee will be completed upon payment, and outlines exactly what is included in your investment so that there is no confusion on what you will receive and how you are permitted to use your images.

Once you’re booked, I will share a guide providing you with preparation and styling tips that pertain to your selected session type.

I will be keeping an eye on the forecast during the days leading up to your session, and if I believe the chance of rain, snow, lightning, or dangerous winds is too high, I will reach out to reschedule your session. As my openings are limited, I am unable to reschedule sessions due to cloudy weather or cold/hot temperatures (unless severe enough to be dangerous). Both sunny and cloudy days have their advantages, so your portraits will be sure to turn out beautifully even if the weather does not seem to be ideal.

On average, clients receive their proofing galleries within 2-3 weeks. Turnaround time on wall art & prints varies depending on item. I recommend booking as early as possible if you would like your photos complete by a particular date. Rush processing may be available in some cases for an additional fee if discussed and agreed upon before the day of the session.

The photos from your session will be narrowed down only to those that meet my artistic and technical standards. The images received in your proofing gallery are the only ones that will be available for viewing.

While some session types allow multiple subjects, two separate clients may not split a session. For example, a couple’s session would, of course, cover photographs of two people- but only through the type of portraits intended for this session type. Two friends who want solo portraits cannot schedule one multi-person session type and split the time and cost; they would need to book as separate clients with separate contracts.

Every proof you receive will be adjusted for optimal appearance and lightly retouched to remove unwanted background clutter and minor blemishes. Upon booking, clients will receive a questionnaire where you may specify anything that you know you would, or would not, like removed or altered during my initial editing process. Requests for major adjustments (such as head swaps, severe stain or wrinkle removal on clothings, etc) will require further consultation and may incur additional fees. Once you decide which images you would like to purchase in your collection, they will undergo one more round of editing before you receive your high-resolution files.

Clients will not have the opportunity to view or purchase any unedited photos, as they are incomplete products and do not meet my standards for deliverable photographs.

The digital files that you will receive after purchasing your collection are yours for personal use. You may share them freely; credit is not required (but is always appreciated). You will also be given a print release granting you permission to print your files for personal display; although I highly encourage you to have them printed professionally through my trusted lab. Please note that a print release is not a copyright transfer, and you are purchasing your images for personal use only. Photographs may not be altered or edited by clients or outside parties, and it is unlawful to use them commercially without purchase of a separate commercial license.
